Aeromedical rescue is the application of aviation emergency rescue in the medical field, with fast response speed, wide rescue scope, less restricted by geographic and spatial characteristics, etc. On 13th April, the first aeromedical rescue consortium in Hunan Province - Xiangya No.2 Hospital of Central South University aeromedical rescue consortium was officially established, marking a new stage of the aeromedical rescue cause in Hunan Province. The cause of a new stage, promote the province's medical emergency system to ‘air-ground integration’ step forward.
It is reported that the aviation medical rescue consortium led by the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University Guilin Hospital, Hunan Province Low Altitude Economic Development Group Limited, Changsha Xiangjiang General Aviation Development Company Limited jointly initiated more than 70 medical institutions in and outside of the province, aviation medical service institutions.
‘The medical ambulance consortium is established to promote the deep integration of the two major strategies of ‘Healthy China’ and ‘Low Altitude Economy’, as well as the innovative practice of high-quality development of public hospitals in the new era. ’ Chai Xiangping, secretary of the Party Committee of Xiangya No. 2 Hospital, introduced that Xiangya No. 2 Hospital will act as the lead unit to establish a province-wide aeromedical ambulance system, so that more parents in Sanxiang will be able to enjoy fast aerial rescue services.
According to the relevant person in charge of the introduction, xiangjiang navigation company has been ‘Hunan province aviation emergency rescue centre base’ and ‘Hunan province aviation medical rescue training base’ award, the company standing stock of AW139, AW109, AW119 and other types of aircraft for different mission scenarios, to achieve the heavy duty rescue. The company is the only company in the central region that operates medium-sized twin-engine all-weather and all-day helicopters and the first company to operate ‘Class D helicopters and load combinations’, and it is also the only company in the central region that operates medium-sized twin-engine all-weather and all-day helicopters.
Previously, Xiangjiang Navigation Company cooperated closely with Xiangya Hospital to carry out aviation medical rescue training in Hunan Province, and has trained more than 200 paramedics. The company has successfully carried out a number of emergency medical missions such as Sangzhi-Zhuzhou aeromedical transfer, Hubei Yichang-Changsha organ aeromedical transfer, etc., and has won valuable time for patients to receive medical treatment time and again.
Under this background, the 3rd Aviation Emergency Rescue Annual Conference 2025 will be held on June 12th-13thin Tianjin. The conference was hosted by Emergency Rescue Branch, CSAA, supported by Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, organized by Beihang University.
