Vietjet has kicked off its latest international route connecting Hanoi to Xi’an with inaugural flights taking off on July 6. Operating four round-trip flights per week, this new non-stop service links two historic cities, expanding air connectivity and fostering tourism across Asia.
The launch follows the debut of a new Hanoi-Chengdu service on July 1, representing Vietjet’s seventh new route between Vietnam and China in 2025 alone. These additions mark a major milestone in the airline’s operations in China, where Vietjet is rapidly increasing its presence. The airline now connects both of Vietnam’s key hubs – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – to the major Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Xi’an.
The newly-launched flights are part of Vietjet’s ongoing global expansion that has witnessed the recent introduction of other new routes to India, Japan, and Singapore. More launches are planned for the second half of this year, including new services to key Asian cities and beyond, further strengthening the airline’s role on the global aviation map.
As Vietjet continues to expand its modern fleet and its international flight network, the airline reaffirms its position as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading carriers. With a commitment to affordable but high-quality travel, Vietjet is making it easier than ever to reach Vietnam and destinations across the wider region.
Vietjet Thailand adds Blueview IFE
Vietjet Thailand is set to enhance the passenger journey with the upcoming launch of its in-flight entertainment (IFE) service powered by the Blueview digital services platform and delivered via the Bluebox Wow system. The service will soon be available across Vietjet Thailand’s fleet of 18 Airbus narrowbody aircraft, with plans to expand to the incoming Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to delight our customers and add value while retaining our low-cost service. Adding this superb capability from Bluebox across our fleet will ensure every customer experiences even more benefits of travelling with Vietjet Thailand,” said Pinyot Pibulsonggram, Vice President of Commercial and Customer Service at Vietjet Thailand. “Introducing this outstanding solution from Bluebox across our fleet allows us to deliver even more value to our passengers. Bluebox’s dedication to innovation aligns perfectly with our own vision, and we’re pleased to collaborate with them, along with Bright Sky Media, to bring an even richer onboard experience to our customers.”
Blueview is a software platform that provides a portal through which passengers can view and access a range of in-flight digital services, such as onboard retail and in-flight entertainment. Blueview can provide secure payment processing, connect with crew and passenger applications already on the aircraft, as well as deliver powerful analytics. It is a digital eco-system offering airlines the ability to engage and entertain their passengers on board and earn ancillary revenue for the airline in the process.
