On April 8, Gansu Provincial Civil Aviation Airport Group Co., Ltd. held a meeting with COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.) at Jiayuguan Jiuquan Airport. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening strategic cooperation and jointly promoting the high-quality development of China’s indigenous civil aviation industry.
During the meeting, Wang Guiyu, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Gansu Provincial Civil Aviation Airport Group Co., Ltd., stated that providing services and support for the high-quality development of China’s indigenous large passenger aircraft is not only a political responsibility of the Group to fulfill national strategic missions, but also an essential path for Gansu’s civil aviation sector to integrate into the national aviation industry layout and achieve high-quality development. In recent years, leveraging Gansu’s advantages in geographic location, climate, and airspace resources, the Group has successfully completed C919 and C909 test flight support missions with high quality, setting new records in multiple test flight indicators. At the same time, it has accumulated extensive experience and established a 'four-in-one' test flight support system featuring 'coordinated air traffic control, ground collaboration, reliable safety, and efficient coordination'. The Group will precisely align with the development needs of China’s indigenous large aircraft, further optimize support processes, strengthen infrastructure support, improve service systems, and provide comprehensive service guarantees. It hopes to carry out all-round and deep-level strategic cooperation with COMAC in areas such as the joint construction of a test flight airport network for special weather conditions, capability enhancement for airworthiness certification, and operation of indigenous aircraft types, so as to effectively contribute Gansu’s civil aviation strength to the high-quality development of China’s indigenous large aircraft industry.
He Dongfeng, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of COMAC, stated that Gansu boasts an excellent test flight environment, high-quality airspace resources, and mature support capabilities, which have laid a solid foundation for deepening cooperation between the two sides. In the future, he hopes to further strengthen communication and coordination in areas such as the construction of an emergency rescue test base and smart airports. In particular, he looks forward to exploring more cooperation entry points in implementing the national 'Border Express' strategy, and continuing to enhance cooperation in technology, resources, and talent, so that China’s indigenous commercial aircraft can better serve the national economic development.
