As one of the six emerging pillar industries and six future industries that the state is committed to developing during the “15th Five‑Year Plan” period, the aerospace sector plays a vital role in building China into a space power and serves as a main arena for great‑power competition.
On May 26, the inaugural meeting of the Jiangsu Provincial Aerospace Industry Alliance was held in Wuxi. During the meeting, the alliance’s charter and activity plans were reviewed, establishing the overall operating rules and next‑step work plans for the alliance.
It is reported that the alliance is guided by the national strategies of building a manufacturing powerhouse and a space powerhouse. Based on Jiangsu Province‘s existing aerospace industry foundation and integrating the province’s industrial resources, the alliance will focus on core areas such as large aircraft, the low‑altitude economy, commercial space, satellite communications, and space‑based computing. Its aim is to drive breakthroughs in key core technologies, establish standards, accelerate the translation of research results into practical applications, and promote coordinated industrial development, thereby providing solid support for the construction of a space powerhouse and the development of regional new quality productive forces.
