Fengfei Airlines Won the World's First eVTOL Overseas Airworthiness Certificate

Fengfei Aviation Technology announced on the 11th that its cargo version of eVTOL model V2000CG Kerry Ou has officially obtained the Type Approval Certificate (Validated Type Certificate,VTC) issued by the Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA), becoming the world's first eVTOL model to obtain overseas model approval.

VTC(Validated Type Certificate, Model Approval Certificate) is an approval certificate issued by the civil aviation authority of the importing country/region to models that have obtained TC from other countries. It is used to prove that the design of the imported aviation product conforms to the airworthiness standards and regulations of the country, and the type approval or acceptance is a necessary condition for foreign aircraft to enter into commercial operation legally in the importing country/region. The acquisition of VTC is an in-depth examination and comprehensive benchmarking of the airworthiness standards of the applied aircraft by the bilateral Civil Aviation Authority.

As the world's first eVTOL "international visa", the award of Indonesia's VTC shows that the design of Fengfei V2000CG not only meets the airworthiness standards of China, the country of origin, but also meets the airworthiness requirements of Indonesia, the importing country. It has achieved a historic breakthrough in the global layout of China's low-altitude intelligent manufacturing enterprises and provided a prerequisite for V2000CG to start commercial operations in the "country of thousands of islands.

Fengfei, the V2000CG has completed a comprehensive compliance verification test and flight test, and obtained the type certificate (TC) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China in March 2024. It is the world's first and currently the only eVTOL above the tonnage level issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (TC, PC, AC). The aircraft has been in the domestic offshore platform operation and maintenance, island security transportation, emergency fire rescue and other scenarios to complete the flight application verification.

On the basis of holding TC issued by CAAC, Fengfei Airlines submitted an airworthiness approval application to Indonesia Civil Aviation Administration in July 2025. After confirming that the V2000CG fully meets Indonesia's airworthiness requirements through comparative analysis of bilateral airworthiness standards, multi-round online technical discussions, full set of technical data review, Indonesia Civil Aviation Administration's on-site review in China, Indonesia Civil Aviation Administration formally issued VTC on June 3, 2026.
