Shanghai Boeing Aviation Modification and Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Boeing") announced on June 17 that its new advanced hangar was officially opened. This marks an important step in capacity expansion for Shanghai Boeing, which is based at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and has served the global aviation industry for 20 years.

This new hangar with high hopes is located in the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. It can accommodate four wide-body machines and two narrow-body machines at the same time. The new hangar is the largest single-span hangar in Asia, with a single span of 200 meters. It is equipped with advanced parts repair workshop and follows high standards of safety and quality, so that Shanghai Boeing can continue to provide a full range of services, including bonded aircraft maintenance and modification, engineering services and aircraft material management.

Shanghai Boeing was established in June 2006. It is a joint venture jointly funded by Boeing, Shanghai Airport Group Co., Ltd. and China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. Boeing Shanghai holds a number of international certifications in the field of maintenance and design, providing a wide range of services including fleet engineering technical support, aircraft maintenance and modification, component repair and supply chain management.

the original hangar of Shanghai Boeing is located in the west finger corridor of Terminal 3 of Pudong Airport Phase IV project under construction, relocation has become a prerequisite for the full completion of Phase IV project. The Shanghai Boeing new hangar project is located in the Pudong Airport Aviation Maintenance Industrial Zone, Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and will start construction on June 20, 2024. Echoing Brandon Nelson's speech, the project created Shanghai's first "miracle" of land acquisition, evidence collection and construction on the same day. Subsequently, after only one and a half years, the construction of the new hangar was successfully completed, completed and accepted in December 2025, completed the comprehensive completion filing in February 2026, and finally officially announced the opening.
