Second "Zero-Tariff" Aircraft Cleared for Entry After Hainan Free Trade Port Customs Closure Operation

Recently, an Airbus A321-251NX aircraft departed from Hamburg, Germany, made a stopover in Kazakhstan, and then flew directly into China, clearing customs at Haikou Meilan Airport Customs under Haikou Customs. This marks the second "zero-tariff" aircraft to benefit from the preferential policy following the commencement of customs closure operations at the Hainan Free Trade Port.

The aircraft, imported under a lease arrangement, was fully exempted from import taxes throughout the entire import process.

Under relevant policies, enterprises that are registered in the Hainan Free Trade Port with independent legal person status and are engaged in transportation or tourism are eligible to import, at zero tariff, vehicles, vessels, aircraft, and other operational transportation vehicles and yachts used for transportation and tourism.

It is noted that Haikou Meilan Airport Customs will continue to monitor the importation of zero-tariff aircraft, provide policy briefings and training on the Hainan Free Trade Port, enabling more enterprises to fully enjoy the benefits, and support the Hainan Free Trade Port in becoming a new highland of openness that connects the world.
