Shanghai: Enhancing Final Assembly and Manufacturing Capabilities and Supply Chain Capacity for Large Aircraft, Strengthening Technology Sourcing and Application Validation
On August 26, the General Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries in Shanghai." The plan calls for enhancing final assembly and manufacturing capabilities and supply chain capacity for large aircraft, as well as strengthening technology sourcing and application validation. Key development areas include:
-
Large passenger aircraft and wide-body aircraft – promoting the scaling-up and serialization of large passenger aircraft, accelerating the development of wide-body aircraft, and gradually achieving commercial deployment.
-
Regional aircraft – promoting the R&D of new-energy regional aircraft, and strengthening the serialized development of regional aircraft in business, medical, and cargo variants.
-
Onboard systems – promoting the R&D and integration of key onboard system products, and accelerating the certification and installation on aircraft.
-
Final assembly and manufacturing – gradually improving the supporting rate for major structural sections and composite material components, and enhancing the supporting capabilities for final assembly and manufacturing.
