COMAC Chairman He Dongfeng: Bringing Humanoid Robots into Large Aircraft Production Workshops
He Dongfeng, Chairman of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), recently stated that the company will build an artificial intelligence training ground, establish a cloud-edge-device collaborative final testing environment, and bring humanoid robots into large aircraft production workshops.
He Dongfeng emphasized that COMAC will always uphold the principles of open innovation, integrated innovation, and cross-boundary innovation, working with partners such as China Unicom to jointly build an intelligent industrial ecosystem featuring online data, ubiquitous coordination, AI evolution, and sufficient resources, thereby contributing to building a better intelligent world.
On June 8, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the General Office of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council issued a notice on the joint launch of the 2026 special action for real-world training of humanoid robots and embodied intelligence. The notice proposes that by the end of 2026, key products such as humanoid robots will take the lead in completing application validation and routine deployment in a number of representative scenarios, entering an "operational mode"; more than 100 high-value application scenarios will be distilled and formed, further enriching the embodied intelligence application spectrum, and driving the formation of deployment capacity at the ten-thousand-unit scale.
