China's First Ton-Class eVTOL Transaction via Financial Leasing Completed

On September 10, AutoFlight, Anhui Tianze Zero Boundary Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. ("Zero Boundary Aviation"), and Wanjiang Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. ("Wanjiang Financial Leasing") officially implemented a tripartite in-depth strategic cooperation agreement, which includes a procurement agreement for 30 V2000CG Kairuiou eVTOL aircraft (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft). This procurement order adopted a financial leasing transaction model, with Wanjiang Financial Leasing providing financial leasing services. It is the first ton-class eVTOL transaction completed through financial leasing in China.

Under the agreement, AutoFlight will deliver the first batch of five V2000CG Kairuiou aircraft within 2026, two of which were delivered in September. The remaining deliveries under the entire procurement order will be progressively completed in line with the expansion of operational scenarios and market demand. Zero Boundary Aviation will leverage AutoFlight's eVTOL products, using cargo scenarios as the entry point, to successively conduct validation flights in areas such as logistics transportation, emergency rescue, and medical transfer.

A relevant official from AutoFlight stated that the introduction of the financial leasing model will effectively resolve the funding mismatch dilemma in the eVTOL industry—namely, "upstream prepayment and downstream installment payments." It will help promote efficient alignment between the manufacturing side and the operations side, and provide sustainable financial support for the subsequent large-scale commercial operation of eVTOLs. At the same time, this model helps accelerate cash collection for manufacturing enterprises and lower transaction thresholds, representing an innovative practice in the integration of industry and finance for eVTOL equipment.
