First C919 to have flight test in FTCC

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has handed over
the first C919 aircraft to Flight Test Center of COMAC (FTCC) on the
25th of December 2016.
He Dongfeng , President of COMAC and Executive Deputy
General Director of C919 Program, encouraged all personnel participating in the
research and test of C919 program to continue to do their best and devote
themselves to various efforts on follow-up production, scientific research and
flight test with full energy and passion. He also emphasized that first
priority should always be given to safety and quality to ensure that there is
no risk at all.
The announcement has followed the certification of CFM
International LEAP-1C engine by the both the European Aviation Safety Agency
(EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on the 21st of December
2016. The engine will power the 150-passenger C919 airplane.
In November 2015, the first C919 rolled out at COMAC facilities in
Shanghai. More recently, COMAC successfully started the engines for the first time in early
November 2016, running them for 10 minutes at ground idle power at the
company¡¯s Shanghai Pudong International Airport facility.
The C919 is expected to edge toward its first flight as soon as late March. Meanwhile, the
wide-body aircraft project between COMAC and UAC will start early this year. Jianzhong
SHI, Vice President of COMAC and Chief Commander of wide body aircraft project

wide-body aircraft project on ¡°8th
Civil Aircraft Industry International Forum 2017¡± as the Chairman
which is hosted by Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics and held on
May 10th -11th, 2017 in Shanghai China.
