Meeting the Innovation Imperative for Aircraft MRO Industry
Jul 27,2017
Nowadays, Innovation is imperative in aircraft MRO industry due to the complexity of the new generation aircrafts and the ever increasing global competition. Innovation implies survival of the fittest. More and more companies step into commercial aviation market, while only those companies equipped with the most advanced facilities and well-adapted could stand out from the competition.
Key Drivers to Execute Innovation
The
survival of software suppliers, airline operators and many other companies
depends on innovation, which encompassed a series of strategic reasons. The
initial reason for innovation is fleets of brand new generation aircrafts.
Plenty of airline operators are ready to receive B787 and A350. There is also a
part of companies made orders on the two new models. The two new models are
equipped with the new systems, and its electronization is extremely high. In
fact, the two new models could be regarded as computers generating big data
while operating the transportation of passengers and cargos. The big data from
the new model aircrafts completely exceed the data from traditional aircrafts.
In addition, the new models have been equipped with prognostics systems that could
seek out the coming fault and integrate the relevant information with adaptive maintenance technology. The new generation aircrafts
is the maximal drive force of civil aviation innovation. One of the characters
of aviation industry is that there are very few dramatic innovations at the
most of the time, but an important turning point could lead to significant
changes. Today, the turning point we could see comes from B787 and A350. The
huge application of composite materials on aircraft body has implied its
technical innovation. Besides, the strong capability of generating big data is
the initial driver of innovation especially for the airline operators adopting
new model aircrafts and the software suppliers who are struggling to fulfill
the demands of the airline operators.
